The Santa Cruz Cruisers got a superb performance from pitcher Jared Casey. Still, it wasn't enough to beat High Desert. The Mavericks won the game, 2-1. Casey threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Pete Allred was the winner. He's now 1-2. The loser was Jared Casey. With the victory, the Mavericks upped their record to 17-16.

The Mavericks got a big at-bat from third baseman Raymón Velazquez. For the game, Velazquez was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave High Desert a 2-1 lead.
