Rattlers Send Stockton Home with 5-2 Loss
|
Rancho Cucamonga pitcher Jon McNeil did his part in helping his team defeat the Stockton Ports, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. McNeil, now 2-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The Rattlers raised their record to 17-16.
Nelson Cabral had a big run-scoring double for the Rattlers in the bottom of the third inning. With Rancho Cucamonga leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Ian Franco, who is tied for 5th in the CAL in quality starts with 4, and swatted a double to left. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rattlers ahead, 2-0.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Cabral.
