Starting pitcher Landry Garvey had a solid game. He was a big reason the Modesto Nuts throttled the Santa Cruz Cruisers, 4-2. Garvey got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Vic Aguilar earned save number 11 this season.

Bobby Bracamonte had a big run-scoring double for the Nuts in the bottom of the second inning. With Modesto leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Odilon Rodríguez and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nuts ahead, 2-0.

"When Landry's on, he's on," said Modesto manager Mark Pollack.

Modesto is now 26-10, Santa Cruz 23-13.
