The Napa Silverados stopped the Ventura Gulls, 6-4, behind an impressive performance from Matthew Shein. The 24-year old third baseman made life miserable for Ventura pitching. He went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Sugar Ray Bivins earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. The loss makes Ventura 20-14.

Shein had a game-changing double in the top of the 11th. On a 1-1 fastball from Phil Benstead, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Silverados a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Shein.

"I like the fight in this team," said Silverados manager Francisco Hichez.
