The Ventura Gulls converted a terrific effort from starter Jared Curran into a win over the Napa Silverados at Gulls Ballpark. The Gulls won the game by a final score of 4-1. Curran yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. Chipper Ruben closed it out for Ventura, earning his 1st save.

The Gulls had to work out of trouble with one out in the top of the eighth. The score was 4-1, Ventura. But Napa, with runners on 1st and 2nd, had mounted a threat. Russ Lehr dug in at the plate. But on a 0-1 fastball, Lehr flied out.

Ventura raised its record to 19-14 with the win.
