Bishop hits 2 home runs, Leads Udder Tuggers to Win
|
The bats were silent much of the day at San Manuel Stadium. But 23-year old third baseman Corey Bishop produced just enough offense to carry the Udder Tuggers past the Lake Elsinore Storm, 3-2. Bishop hit 2 home runs. Now 4-28, Lake Elsinore has dropped 16 games in a row.
Had Matthew Allala not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Allala hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Udder Tuggers.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Lake Elsinore manager Kevin Cornell.
