The New York Yankees beat the Indianapolis Ignition, 5-2. New York pitcher and Montrose-Ghent, Ohio, native Aaron Barbetta led the way. The Yankees now have a record of 44-69 with the win over Indianapolis.

Stephen Kenon, the 30-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Kenon contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put New York up, 1-0.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Barbetta. "Successful pitchers do it."
