Rattlers Win at Home, 4-1
|
Napa got a decent performance from pitcher Nick Oteri, but it wasn't enough to beat the Rancho Cucamonga Rattlers. Rancho Cucamonga won the Hammond Stadium contest, 4-1. Oteri threw 7.2 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. Rancho Cucamonga starter Nate Charlot was credited with the win after throwing 96 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-3. Gray Foster closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
The Rattlers got a big at-bat from second baseman Jacob Baron. For the game, Baron was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Rancho Cucamonga a 4-1 lead.
Baron told a Rancho Cucamonga Times reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
For Napa, now 20-6, wins have been plentiful, losses few.
