The performance of Alex Sheppard proved critical in helping Riverside beat High Desert, 6-5, in 11 innings. The Red Wave catcher was 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the 11th when Jackson Meyers hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Cliff Buford to win the game for Riverside. The home crowd went wild.
