Valentin Leads Blaze to Win
The Bakersfield Blaze cruised to a win over the Ventura Gulls, 12-3, at Gulls Ballpark. Bartholo Valentin, who is tied for 9th in the CAL in triples with 1, led the way, going 4-for-6 for Bakersfield. The triumph makes Bakersfield 15-9, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2062.

In the top of the third, with Bakersfield leading 2-0, the Gulls made a critical error. The blunder allowed Bakersfield to score 1 and take the lead, 3-0.

"Nice to score a bunch of runs," said Valentin after the game.
