The Martinez Clippers and San Bernardino Stampede played an exciting game.

Mark Joyce pitched well, but the San Bernardino Stampede still lost the game, falling, 3-2, to the Martinez Clippers at Recreation Park. The win went to Burke Metzger in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Mark Joyce took the loss. Reagan Daly earned the save, his 5th, for the Clippers.

Catcher Roberto Padilla made an impact for Martinez, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Mark Joyce in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Padilla went 1-3 with a double.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said San Bernardino skipper Stephon Cohen, "and it cost us."

San Bernardino now is 7-17.
