The Riverside Red Wave knocked off the Lake Elsinore Storm, 5-3, in California League action at Lake Elsinore Diamond. Riverside pitcher and New Haven, Connecticut, native Sean Richardson had an outstanding performance. Charlie Tanaka nailed down the save. Lake Elsinore, now 4-17, has gotten off to a terrible start.

Mick Dees delivered a big hit for Riverside. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Red Wave ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

Dees said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
