Yucatan Slaps 3-2 Loss on Kangas
|
The Yucatan Matadors earned a win at The Roo Zoo, stopping the Quintana Roo Kangas, 3-2. Starting pitcher Barry Spencer played a big role in his team's success. The winning pitcher was Spencer, now 4-4. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. The Matadors raised their record to 48-58.
The Matadors benefited from a costly error in the top of the seventh. With E.J. Lunsford at bat and Yucatan leading 2-1, the Quintana Roo miscue allowed Yucatan to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
Lunsford was in a reflective mood after the contest. He told the Yucatan Today, "Every game is it's own challenge. That's what keeps the competitive fire alive."
