Batista, Cleveland Start Division Championship Series Strong with Home Win
The Cleveland Indians started the Division Championship Series in dominant fashion, blowing out the visiting Seattle Mariners at Tecumseh Field by a score of 10-3 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Indians designated hitter Feliz Batista had a standout performance. He was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 4.

Batista slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 against the Mariners. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a 2-run home run that put Cleveland in front, 2-0.

"Before the game, I told the guys that what happened today would set the tone for the rest of the series," Mariners manager Jose Perez said after the loss. "I'm really hoping I was wrong about that."
