Ironbirds Top Pizza Rats, 8-3, to Begin DS
|
The Aberdeen Ironbirds started the Divisional Series in style, winning on the road against the Staten Island Pizza Rats at Richmond County Bank Ballpark by a score of 8-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Ironbirds left-hander Miguel Maceo threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball.
Maceo delivered a quality start for Aberdeen. The 6-foot-0 left-hander allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 7 innings of work.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Maceo told the Aberdeen Today. "It's as simple as that."
