Almost There: Ventura On Cusp of DS Triumph After 4-3 Win
The Ventura Gulls moved to within one game of the Regional Championship Series, downing the visiting Santa Cruz Cruisers at Gulls Ballpark by a score of 4-3. Gulls right-hander E.J. Kenty had a strong outing in which he threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Gulls a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Ventura took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Adrián Galvan hit a 2-run single to make it 3-1, Gulls.

"Both teams played hard," said Ventura manager Hasan Madrigal.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gulls Ballpark in Ventura.
