Hammerheads Hammered by Tapia, Drop Game 3 to Hillcats
|
The Lynchburg Hillcats have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Jupiter Hammerheads, winning, 4-1, at Calvin Falwell Field. Hillcats center fielder Norbert Tapia belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win cuts the deficit facing the Hillcats to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.
Tapia had a key at-bat in the bottom of the first to put Lynchburg in front, 3-0. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run off Jupiter pitcher Benjamin Moery.
Tapia attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Calvin Falwell Field in Lynchburg.
