Closing In: Lakewood Nears DS With Dramatic Game 4 Win
The Lakewood BlueClaws got a strong game from starter James Boyden, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The BlueClaws took the 5-4 win over the Columbus Catfish in Game 4 of the Wild Card Series in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Boyden. Boyden threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the BlueClaws a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Gerardo Rodriguez was the walk-off hero for Lakewood. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the BlueClaws catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Rodriguez said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lake Olmstead Stadium in Augusta.
