Geckos Rally Past Salamanders to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
A clutch 9th inning gave the Gilbert Geckos a walk-off win over the Scottsdale Salamanders and a 1-0 lead in the Wild Card Series at Camelback Ranch. Young left fielder Osmel Adriano, 20, earned kudos after he was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Gilbert trailing 6-5, T.J. Taira hit a fastball from Deacon DiFrancesco to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Geckos had a walk-off win.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Adriano said in his postgame press conference.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Camelback Ranch in Gilbert.
