Casper Win Evens Series at 2
|
The bats were silent for much of the day at Indians Ballpark today. But Casper catcher Sterling Lambert conjured up just enough offense to carry the Ghosts past the Pueblo Indians, 3-2. In a game dominated by the pitching staffs, Lambert went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win brought Casper into a 2-2 tie with Pueblo in the best-of-7 series.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Lambert hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Ghosts into the lead, 3-2.
After the game, Casper manager Charles Chaney applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Indians Ballpark in Pueblo.
