Blaze Hammered by Jackson, Fall Further Behind in WCS
|
With second baseman Dylan Jackson leading the charge, the San Bernardino Stampede got past the Bakersfield Blaze, 8-5, in extra innings in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series. Jackson was 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 at Jim Perry Stadium as San Bernardino managed to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Javier Matos? The San Bernardino first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the 13th inning to put the Stampede on top, 6-5. For the game, Matos had 1 double and 3 singles in 7 at-bats.
"Our team found a way to get it done," said Jackson.
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Grainger Stadium in San Bernardino.
