Clippers Even With Ports After Home Win
The Martinez Clippers knotted up the Wild Card Series at Recreation Park, thanks in large part to starter Lucas Lajos. Lajos quieted the Stockton Ports, enabling Martinez to grab the 6-0 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

The Clippers liked what they saw from Lajos. The 22-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Ports to no runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, and striking out 6.

"Lucas's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Martinez manager Josiah Gordon.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton.
