Clippers Take 2-1 Lead with 5-3 Win
|
With starter Lance Garcia leading the charge, the Martinez Clippers defeated the San Jose Giants, 5-3, in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series. The right-hander threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs at San Jose Municipal Stadium to help Martinez take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Louis Lininger came through with a big-time hit for Martinez. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Martinez manager J.D. Ray.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at San Jose Municipal Stadium in San Jose.
