State College Wins Wild Card Series
|
It's a sweet sweep for the State College Spikes and they have won the Wild Card Series. The Vermont Lake Monsters were not able to keep pace with the Spikes and dropped the series in short order, losing, 6-2, in the deciding game.
"This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Vermont manager Lawrence Crocker.
It's now on to the Divisional Series for State College after their 4-0 series win.
Leading the way for the winners was first baseman Micah Moyer, who was named MVP. For the series, Moyer hit .462 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
