Charlotte Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
|
Already down in the Wild Card Series, the Charlotte Stone Crabs put on their best show, beating the Hudson Valley Renegades by a final score of 4-3 today. Maxwell Guerriero was special. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Charlotte now trails Hudson Valley 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Charlotte shortstop Samuel Banda, facing Dee MacKay, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Stone Crabs the 4-3 win.
"We had a chance to win," said Hudson Valley manager Bentley Love, "but we didn't get it done."
The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 13th , 2052 at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Wappingers Falls.
