Road Win Lifts San Bernardino to 2-1 Lead in WCS
|
Bakersfield had no answer for San Bernardino starter Tim Briere, who flummoxed Blaze hitters as the Stampede cruised to victory, 5-2, in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series. The Stampede now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series, thanks in large part to the right-handed Briere, who controlled Bakersfield throughout the contest and threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball.
Briere gave San Bernardino a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 6.2 innings.
"We had a good game plan," Briere said, "and we were able to execute it."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Jim Perry Stadium in Bakersfield.
