In a pivotal Game 5, the Oil City Oilers were hoping for a big game from starter Bryan Owens. They got one.

The left-hander shut out the West Virginia Black Bears, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 1-0 victory. The Oilers took the 1-0 win over the West Virginia Black Bears to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Owens delivered a quality start for Oil City. The 6-foot-3 left-hander allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 7 innings of work.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Oil City Oilers (probably) 2067 A- Championship Series Champions'," Owens told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday at Dutchess Stadium in Morgantown.
