Majerus Blasts Rainiers, Isotopes Take Game 3, 6-5
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Tacoma Rainiers, winning, 6-5, at Isotopes Park. Isotopes second baseman Ichabod Majerus went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Isotopes to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.
Had Majerus not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Majerus hit a 3-run home run. The Isotopes took the lead, 6-4, and never looked back.
"By the skin of our teeth, man," Majerus told the Albuquerque Chronicle. "But hey, it still counts. A few more by the skin of our teeth is fine with me."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque.
