Almost There: Olympia On Cusp of WCS Triumph After 4-2 Win
The Olympia Spartans moved to within one game of the Divisional Series, downing the Yakima Valley Pippins on the road at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park by a score of 4-2. Spartans right-hander Vincent Andersen had a strong outing. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Spartans a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

Andersen, the Olympia right-hander, went 5.1 innings, allowing no runs on no hits. He collected 4 strikeouts.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Spartans manager Jim Todd said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park in Yakima.
