The Chihuahua Aztecs had to overcome a good performance from Oaxaca pitcher Paxton Aston to claim a 2-1 win at Timeless Temple. Aston went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Michel Solorio, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Cal Stuart closed the door for Chihuahua, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

In the bottom of the sixth, Chihuahua left fielder Aaron Statzer put his team on top. With one out and a runner on 1st, he hit his 2nd home run of the year. Oaxaca pitcher Paxton Aston served it up. Just like that, the Aztecs were ahead, 2-1.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Statzer.

Oaxaca falls to 1-4.
