Flying Tigers Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
|
The Medford Flying Tigers topped the New Westminster Cavalry, 3-2, in Northwest League action at Medford Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Medford pitcher Austin Scoble. The winner was Terry Gillar in relief. His record improves to 3-1. P.J. Peyton took the loss. Medford, at 44-26, sits in second place in the Northwest League South Division.
Brantley Macek hit a bases-clearing triple off Izan Otero in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Flying Tigers in front, 3-0. Macek had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"Austin gave us everything he had," said Medford manager Francisco Hichez.
