Loss to Flying Tigers Extends Tri-City Losing Streak
The Medford Flying Tigers topped the Tri-City Dust Devils, 9-6, in Northwest League action at Medford Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Medford pitcher and Valencia, Venezuela, native Réwal Rodriquez. Rodriquez, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 8.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The slumping Dust Devils have dropped 12 in a row.

Pedro Castro had a big 3-run home run for the Flying Tigers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Medford leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a splitter from Daniel Amaro, who is tied for 8th in the NWL with a 9.3 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Flying Tigers on top, 7-1.

"When you're losing, the game looks more difficult to play than it is," said Tri-City manager Bob Kaiser.
