Embaló Clouts 2 Homers in 11-8 Yakima Valley Win
|
In a high-scoring game between Yakima Valley and Abbotsford, designated hitter Gabriel Embaló was a difference-maker. The 21-year-old helped Yakima Valley grab the 11-8 win. He went 4-5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 4 and driving in 6. Reliever Jackson McClintock picked up the win. His record improves to 5-3. Paul St. George took the loss. Matt Haynes earned his 10th save, after closing out the game.
In the top of the seventh, Yakima Valley left fielder Cionel Abreu hit a two-strike fastball to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It put the Pippins up, 9-8.
"This game had a little bit of everything," said Abreu.
At 35-33, the Pippins are currently 5th in the Northwest League North Division.
