Howe Belts Bunch of Base Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead New Westminster's 15-7 victory over the Tri-City Dust Devils, second baseman Dillan Howe told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Short Season A-level is really something special."

The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at Gesa Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Dust Devils.

"His swing is getting there," said Cavalry skipper Leo Campos, who spoke glowingly of Howe after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Dillan did that to perfection."

Dillan Howe doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Thus far this year, Howe is batting .300 with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
