The Eugene Emeralds and Gold Beach Sea Unicorns riveted fans at Redding Grounds.
The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns beat the Eugene Emeralds, 5-2, at Redding Grounds. Brandon Nava starred for Gold Beach. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Pedro Fernández picked up the save, his 6th.
With Gold Beach trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Nava hit a fastball from Eric Lamborn for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Sea Unicorns ahead, 5-2.
"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Nava.
The defeat makes Eugene 26-41.
