Volcanoes Pitching Ravaged by Myette
The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns stopped the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes by a score of 13-4 at Volcanoes Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Joe Myette. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Myette said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Myette did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Volcanoes.

"Not much that I can say," offered Salem-Keizer manager Chotaro Inoue. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Joe Myette singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

This year, Myette has hit 2 home runs and posted a .288 batting average.
