The Staten Island Pizza Rats got a sterling performance from designated hitter Cal Arnold, but the Niagara Falls Rapids still prevailed, 4-3. Arnold went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. The Rapids raised their record to 25-43.

Dave Long dealt the Pizza Rats a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Niagara Falls leading 3-1, Long hit a 1-2 slider for a run-scoring single.

"The clubhouse can get insufferable after we lose, so I'm glad we pulled this one out today," Long told the Niagara Falls Times.
