Muckdogs Top Tigers, 9-2
|
The Batavia Muckdogs beat the Connecticut Tigers, 9-2, at Dwyer Stadium. Richard Le Goyet went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. The 22-year old right fielder was a menace to Connecticut all day. The Muckdogs sit in first place in the New York-Penn League North Division with a record of 43-25.
Batavia catcher Marcel Moody contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a splitter into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 29th hit of the season and put the Muckdogs ahead, 4-2.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Batavia manager Adam LaBreck. "Our pregame was pretty good."
