New Westminster Absorbs 3-2 Loss to Kennewick
|
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Kennewick Grounds.
Kennewick Marauders starter Hayden Stucky turned in a sterling performance against the New Westminster Cavalry, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. Stucky, now 3-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Lisuarte Reyes got credit for the save for Kennewick. It was his 10th of the year.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from first baseman Geronimo Turner. For the game, Turner was 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Kennewick a 3-2 lead.
"We scored more than enough runs this time," said Kennewick manager Manuelo Menendez. "Now watch. The next game we'll probably struggle to get a base hit."
Kennewick is now 24-39.
