Muckdogs Rough Up ValleyCats, 13-1
|
The Batavia Muckdogs got production from their entire lineup in an easy 13-1 win over the Tri-City ValleyCats. Doing his part was left fielder Owen Goodwin. Goodwin, who is tied for 9th in the NYP in RBI with 49, went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 6. Matt Thompson picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 4-2. Batavia is now 42-25, while Tri-City is 30-37.
Aiden Wallace, the 21-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Wallace contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Batavia up, 2-0.
"That game had disaster written all over it," said Tri-City skipper Jason McTaggart. "I could feel it."
