Medford Hands Olympia 3-1 Defeat
|
Getting an impressive start from Emiliano Aguinaga, Medford beat Olympia by the score of 3-1. Aguinaga, now 5-4, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. D.J. Gates, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Medford won the game in part because of Jordan Allen. The catcher ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Flying Tigers ahead, 3-0. For the game, Allen had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Emiliano went out and did what we needed," said Medford manager Francisco Hichez.
The setback makes Olympia 46-18.
