Close Win Moves Indians to 31-33
|
Led by 21-year-old W.C. Mosher, the Spokane Indians downed the New Westminster Cavalry, 8-7. Mosher went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Spokane. Emmanuel Cantin, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-1. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. Oscar Serrano earned the save for Spokane, his 14th.
Spokane took the lead, 8-4, on Joshua Cost's 3rd triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which Cost hit in the bottom of the eighth, made New Westminster pitcher Cal Davidge wince.
Indians manager Brice Bargman wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
The win boosts the Indians to 31-33. The loss puts the Cavalry at 40-24.
