Hawks Nip Lobsters, 2-1
|
In a tight game between the Maine Lobsters and the Boise Hawks, nobody was more important for the winners than Ketan Sliger. Sliger was masterful in the 2-1 win. Boise pitcher Andy Burns got the win. He's now 4-3. Jon Philippe was tagged with the loss. Obi-wan Suzor sewed up the save, his 11th.
Geremi Campos drove in one run for Boise. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jon Philippe. It was his 32nd RBI of the season.
"That's baseball," said Maine manager Bill Medina. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
The win makes Boise 27-39.
