With 13-3 Win, Doubledays Go to 34-32
|
The Auburn Doubledays topped the Eugene Emeralds, 13-3, with youngster Caleb Suydam playing a key role. Suydam was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Doubledays in the win. Auburn pitcher Connor Tuttle got the win. He's now 4-2. Jake Shoemaker was tagged with the loss. Todd Bray closed the door for Auburn, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Scott Lungu had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Auburn. With the bases loaded and the Doubledays leading 5-3, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We take it day by day here," said Lungu, "and today was a good one for us."
The 'W' lifts Auburn's record to 34-32.
