Dodgers Come Up Short at Yakima Valley, 3-2
In a low-scoring contest between the Yakima Valley Pippins and the Rogue Valley Dodgers, V.J. Amador, who is tied for 8th in the NWL in quality starts with 6, proved to be the difference. The Yakima Valley right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Pippins win. In 7 innings, Amador surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Matt Haynes closed the game out for Yakima Valley, earning his 10th save.

The Pippins got a big at-bat from first baseman Daniel Howard. For the game, Howard went 1-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Yakima Valley a 3-2 lead.
