Marroquin has 4 hits in AquaSox Win

The Everett AquaSox trumped the Redmond Rattlers, 7-4, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Everett catcher Leopold Marroquin was terrific. He was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Rush Bradford, who is tied for 3rd in the NWL in wins with 6, was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Picking up the save was Jesse Giove, his 7th.
Kevin Detterman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Everett. The 21-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a 2-run single off Lucas Salopek. It was his 23rd hit of the season.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Detterman said.
The first-place AquaSox bumped their record to 41-18.
