Wenatchee turned a good effort from starter Gus Tack into a win over the Connecticut Tigers at Chiefs Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Wenatchee reliever Jake Gill was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Ricky Atwood took the loss. With the win over Connecticut, the Chiefs improved to 39-26.
In the bottom of the sixth, Wenatchee first baseman Kelly Schwartz put his team on top. With two out and a runner on 2nd, he hit his 6th home run of the year. Connecticut pitcher Ricky Atwood served it up. Just like that, the Chiefs were ahead, 2-1.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Tack.
