Niagara Falls got a decent performance from pitcher Dudley Bennett, but it wasn't enough to beat the Aberdeen Ironbirds. Aberdeen won the Nat Bailey Stadium contest, 4-3. Bennett threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The triumph puts Aberdeen at 35-30 for the season.
Aberdeen used the timely hitting of Landen Lee to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ironbirds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Aberdeen manager Elijah Holmes.
