Carolina Beats Oxford in Extra Innings

The Carolina Mudcats dealt the Oxford Owls a 6-4 loss in 10 innings at Ballpark of Oxford. Dannysmel Calderon was the star on offense. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Carolina reliever Joshua Richardson snagged the win, upping his record to 8-6. Kyler Green shouldered the loss. The Owls, at 71-65, have lost 4 in a row.
Calderon had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Kyler Green, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Mudcats a 6-4 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Calderon.
Calderon said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
