The Frederick Keys took on the Carolina Mudcats at Five County Stadium.

The Frederick Keys withstood a fine game by Carolina second baseman Vic Abels at Five County Stadium, to upend the Mudcats, 4-2. Abels was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Derek Vanderhoof earned the save, his 4th, for the Keys.

Josh Young came through with a big-time hit for Frederick. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Young told the Frederick Chronicle.

Frederick now sits at 65-68, while Carolina falls to 70-63.
